Ask your florist to show you flowers that are "look a likes". If you love roses but can't afford them, your florist can provide you with samples of blooms that can give you the same overall look with a smaller price tag.

Selecting flowers that are in season at the time of your wedding will save you up to 40%. Be flexible and decide on a "color palette" instead of choosing an exact color for your flowers. This will allow your florist some room to purchase the best of what is available in your palette or shade, and save you money instead of having to special order your specific color request.

Don't shy away from flowers that are not your favorite or are referred to as being cheap. Try selecting a vibrant color and incorporate some of your favorite blooms in creative ways. This will enable you to create a larger bouquet or more centerpieces, and save you money along the way. Ask your florist to create something for you to look at, before you dismiss this idea. If your reception hall requires you to create a large number of centerpieces to make your venue look spectacular, you must use larger blooms. Larger blooms mean fewer flowers for each arrangement.
