I have worked with many brides, who work tirelessly to plan the perfect wedding. But many forget, that they must also begin a beauty regimen at least 6 months prior to their wedding day, in order to look and feel their best on what will be one of the most important days of their lives.

Remember, everyone will be looking at the bride (and groom) on your wedding day so do your best, to look your best with these simple wedding beauty tips.

Bridal Beauty Tips
5 - 6 Months before Wedding Day

Exercise – Don’t wait until the last minute to get into shape. The last thing you want to worry about on our wedding day is fitting into your wedding gown. So start your exercise routine now. Working out for 30 minutes a day 4 – 6 days a week by walking, running, swimming, etc. will help you tone, sculpt and loose those few unwanted pounds. Pay attention to your posture, walking and moving gracefully. If you need help in this area a Yoga class can do wonders.

Diet – This does not mean “go on a diet” it means watch your diet. If you have already selected your wedding gown you will want to maintain your size so that your gown will as fit perfectly as the day you fell in love with it at the bridal shop. Watching your diet and drinking plenty of water will affect your skin, hair, mood, etc. Don’t stress out; remember to eat healthy to keep your body, skin, and mind in great shape.

Hair – If you already have a hairdresser that you love, then you have nothing to worry about on your wedding day. If you don’t, now is the time to start your search. Share your wedding beauty tips and countdown with your hairdresser, they can help you attain the look and style that you will want to wear on your wedding day. They can help you grow out your bangs or get your hair into healthy condition. If you want to color or highlight your hair, now is the time to experiment.

Brows – Many women have their brow professionally shaped on a monthly basis. If you do not and this is something that you want to have done for your wedding, now is the time to find someone to advise you and begin getting your brows into picture perfect shape.

Skin – Planning a wedding will no doubt bring you some stress and during this time it is not uncommon to begin having skin problems. You may want to consult with a dermatologist if you are having specific skin problems and need to get them under control before your wedding day.

Important wedding beauty tip: You may also want to contact a beauty consultant to discuss beginning a new skin regimen, or schedule several spa treatments before your wedding to receive facials, skin peels, that will help keep your pores clear until the wedding day.

Wedding Beauty Tips
3 - 4 Months before Wedding Day

Tan – A very important wedding beauty tip and one that brides forget about, is working on their tan. Depending on the time of year you may want to begin working on your tan, especially if you will be wearing a wedding gown that will show off your back and shoulders. Tanning salons are a great way to get your tan on! Schedule them into your busy schedule and use this time to relax a little.

Teeth – Great beauty wedding tip: Now is the time to think about whitening your teeth. Some products can be done at home but do require several weeks to complete. Some treatments require a professional, now is a great time to visit your local dentist. Getting your teeth cleaned may be all you require, but remember that most dentists are very busy and setting up an appointment must be done early. Even if you’ve got perfect teeth remember to cut back on drinks that tend to stain teeth as your wedding day approaches such as coffee, tea, soft drinks and red wine.

Makeup – Decide if you will need a makeup artist on your wedding day? Your beauty consultant, hairdresser or local spas are great sources to provide you with names to begin the search for the perfect one. Once you have found them be sure to book them for your wedding day as well as a practice session several weeks prior to the wedding day. If you will be applying your own makeup on your wedding day, now is the time to decide on the products you will be using. If you are not satisfied with your present skin products you should contact a beauty consultant who can provide you with the newest skin care products available. Organize a spa party for you and your bridesmaids by contacting a beauty consultant who sells skin products in your area such as Mary Kay/Avon, these consultants can provide you with many great wedding beauty tips.

Wedding Beauty Tips
Final Weeks before Wedding Day

2 Weeks before:

Facial or microdermabrasion session at your local spa or salon is a great way to improve the look and feel of your skin.

Whiten your teeth at home with whitening strips now.

Final haircut, trim, or hair color need to be done now.

1 Week before:

Waxing – Schedule your last waxing appointment for upper lip, legs, bikini line, and etc. three to 4 weeks since your last appointment. This is the amount of time needed to allow the hair to be long enough for perfect removed.

Manicure – Show of your new wedding ring in perfect manicured hands. Consider having a paraffin wax hand treatment to make your hands softer and smoother than you ever thought possible. Tip: Get your engagement ring cleaned so it will sparkle and match beautifully along side your new wedding band.

1 – 2 Days before:

Get your final manicure and let someone else do the dishes!

Exfoliate your entire body.

There is still time for a spray tan.

Deep condition your hair if needed.

Get a massage to help you relax and feel pampered.

Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, limit your intake of salt and alcohol to prevent puffiness under the eyes.

Pick up or have your wedding gown delivered if it has not already been done. Make sure your gown & veil has been perfectly steamed and is hung in a place where it won’t get wrinkled.

Gather all of your wedding accessories such as shoes, jewelry, handkerchief, etc. and place them in a special bag to keep them together and will be easily carried to the location you will be getting ready.

Prepare your wedding day emergency kit. Place all of your lipstick, gloss, hair pins, hair spray, breath mints, aspirins, safety pins, static cling spray, needle and thread, etc. that you will need to have nearby throughout your special day. (Tip: White blackboard chalk is a great way to cover up any stains you might get on your wedding gown. It won’t remove the stain but it will make it less noticeable.)

Prepare a wedding day emergency snack kit. These are great both for you and your bridesmaids. They can contain bottled water, cheese stix, crackers, fruit, napkins, juice, etc. You will be on the move for several hours and will have little time between getting to the church, bridal portraits and the reception. A snack kit will keep you hydrated and give you and your bridal party energy.

Day before:

It's the day before your wedding and the best wedding beauty tip I can give you is to stop planning and start enjoying. Don't think about any more wedding details. Delegate last minute details to your bridesmaids, groomsmen, parents, friends and family who are all there to help you.

It's your day! Focus on your groom, looking fantastic and celebrating a wonderful new chapter in your life!

Eat a good dinner, drink plenty of water, eliminate alcohol to avoid puffiness around the eyes, and get a good night sleep.

On Your Wedding Day:

Eat breakfast no matter how nervous you are or if you don’t feel hungry. High complex, high-fiber carbs and lean protein are best for long-term energy.

Continue drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Get your hair and makeup done.
